who we are

Layered provides a custom sweet experience for any special occasion, and for celebrating your loved ones. Pastry chef and owner Jo created Layered out of her love and passion for the art of pastry, as well as making people happy. She applies her10 years of professional experience to create custom cakes and desserts that aim to leave a lasting impression. Her greatest inspiration for the birth of Layered is her newest role as mama to her sweet baby boy.

Chef Jo received classical training at the French Culinary Institute in New York City, and has honed her craft in many notable hotels and restaurants there, as well as here in Honolulu. Some of these include Ron Ben-Israel Cakes, The Mark by Jean-Georges, Le Cirque, and most recently, The Modern Honolulu and Ravish. She is inspired daily by Hawaii’s natural beauty and local flavors.

We will work closely with you to dream up a one of a kind creation to celebrate that very important event or person in your life. Layered is dedicated to sourcing only the highest quality ingredients, local and sustainable whenever possible. All of our cakes and desserts are hand crafted from scratch, and paid with extreme attention and care.
